Orlando Capital V acquires fm Büromöbel
Bösel, 2 October 2026 – Orlando Capital V GmbH & Co. KG (“Orlando”) has signed an agreement to acquire office furniture manufacturer fm Büromöbel, headquartered in Bösel, Germany, with a second production site in Ampflwang, Austria.
- The transaction marks Orlando Capital V’s fourth platform acquisition in 2026.
- Completion is subject to merger control clearance.
- Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
fm has been consistently profitable in recent years. Orlando specifically seeks out well-positioned market leaders in their niches, and has identified exactly that in fm: a healthy, well-managed business that, as a standalone company, can focus fully on its strengths.
A manufacturing model that sets fm apart
Founded in 1964, the company today employs more than 400 people and generates revenue of around EUR 80 million. Across its two independent sites, fm combines highly automated series production with industrialised craft manufacturing, enabling individually configured office furniture down to a batch size of one, at industrial cost and with consistently short delivery times. This is a key competitive advantage.
Looking ahead
Together with the management team, Orlando intends to build on these strengths. The focus will be on further developing the product portfolio, deepening partnerships with specialist dealers. In parallel, Orlando will support targeted investments in production and operational infrastructure. fm will remain an independent company with its own brand and its own management. Beyond organic growth, both partners see an opportunity to actively shape the consolidation of a fragmented market through selective add-on acquisitions.
“fm is an attractive market leader with a compelling manufacturing model and a strong network of specialist dealer partners,” says Simon Pfennigsdorf, Partner at Orlando Capital. “As an experienced investor in the furniture sector, we invest in market leaders in their respective niches and develop them over the medium to long term. We look forward to supporting fm’s highly experienced and committed management team in its next phase of growth.”
“The office furniture market is undergoing significant change. In Orlando, we have a partner who knows the furniture industry and thinks long term. This gives us the opportunity to develop fm further together,” says Dan Lühr, Managing Director Sales and Marketing at fm Büromöbel.
